It was a great night highlighted by our guest speaker, Karen Shelton 38 year head coach of UNC’s incredibly successful field hockey team. Amazing record: 21 ACC Championships and 7 National Championships. In addition Lelia Evans, senior player on the 2018 undefeated National Championship team also gave some wonderful insight into why this program is so successful.
Marrisa Devine, one of FVCC Chatham County scholarship winners was also in attendance and gave a wonderful talk about why she valued both her UNC education and the scholarship. She is the reason why the Philip Cree FVCC Scholarship Fund is the focal point of our Alumni Club.
And of course, the food! Great Southern Cuisine provided by Mama Dip’s Kitchen right here in Chapel Hill. The fare included fried chicken, mac n cheese, green beans, coconut and pecan tarts and of course cornbread!
