Our annual Spring Fling Bar B Q event was held on May 2 2017. Tommy Edwards was our special guest. Tommy has played with The Bluegrass Experience for over 45 years and is a Chatham County fixture. Along with entertaining us with his guitar and banjo playing, he guided us through the history of Bluegrass Music. Our event was catered by Allen & Sons Bar B Q just right down the road on 15-501. We were treated to Eastern NC barbecue with all the fixin’s including cole slaw and of course hushpuppies!
Our Spring event is the kick off for our annual scholarship drive. Everyone was encouraged to continue our record giving for our Chatham County UNC students. We had 60 attendees and somehow the main topic of conversation kept drifting over to that little sporting event that took place the night of April 3rd. Oh yeah, another NCAA Championship!
